With the release of their latest single “How You Like That”, Blackpink has yet again proved why they are arguably the biggest KPop girl group of today. In the music video, as per usual, the girl group gave us covet-worthy looks and make up that was so on-point it made us wish we got access to makeup tips from Blackpink themselves. Whether it is Lisa, Jennie, Rose or Ji Soo that you are a fan of – it is undeniable that these ladies are the perfect examples of what a ‘triple threat’ is. They are undeniably good looking, given model-like figures and also exceptionally talented.
In every music video, there are iconic looks from the girls we wish we could copy. Thankfully, in previous interviews – they were generous enough to share some of the ways they keep themselves looking gorgeous and on-point – no fail.

1. CHOOSE SKINCARE RATHER THAN MAKEUP
If you love Jisoo, you would be surprised to know that her cosmetics bag contains very few makeup products. So few, in fact, that the idol revealed that the her reason is that she chooses to focus more on skincare rather than makeup. She is not the only female personality in the Korean showbusiness that believes in this, as you may have read in our previous articles. Now, we all know that her blemish-free and glowing t skin comes as esult of her commitment to skincare rather than the latest makeup products. – this is a philosophy we should all live by too, if we want to have great skin like hers.
2. DON’T SKIP PROPER CLEANSING
We have already talked about the importance of thorough cleansing in the past and as it turns out, Blackpink member Rose believes in this too. This tip seem obvious enough as it is. However, it can be easily forgotten especially when you come home from a long day of work. According to Rose, cleansing her face is definitely ant important part of taking good care of herself. That said she makes it a point to gently remove her makeup and wash her face no matter how tired she may be.
3. USE FACIAL MASKS FREQUENTLY
While from afar, Jisoo’s skin looks flawless and blemish-free all the time, she recently revealed that one of her biggest concerns when it comes to her skin is that it’s quite dry. Because she is suffering from dryness quite often, her secret is to carry with her a facial mask regularly – sometimes, adding up to two or three times in a day. Regular users may think of this as a little too much. Then again, if it’s good enough for Ji Soo, we might as well give it a shot, right?
4. PUT ON ON MOISTURISER BEFORE SLEEPING
Another Blackpink member who is suffering from dry skin? Lisa. In a previous interview, she shared this trick: pile on cream moisturiser and allow her skin to absorb it while she sleeps. Those who are not used to using tons of skincare products may find that their skin feel oily and sticky after the routine, but you can consider applying a little more or opting for a sleeping mask that’s intended for thick application without weighing on skin. According to Lisa herself, You’ll love how you’ll wake up to soft and supple skin in the morning!
5. DO A FACIAL MASSAGE AFTER MOISTURISING
Another secret tip that was shared by Lisa in her interview : a facial massage after applying moisturiser. This allows the product to penetrate deeper into the skin, enhancing its effects. In fact, Lisa brings a facial massager everywhere she goes so she can use it anytime!
6. USE A LIP SCRUB DAILY
Here is another tip from Ji Soo: After wearing lipstick for the entire day, Jisoo likes to exfoliate her lips. She then follows up with lip balm for moisturisation. This keeps her puckers looking soft and kissable!
7. STICK TO PRODUCTS THAT COMPLEMENT YOUR SKIN
Most of her band members enjoy experimenting with new products all the time. As for Rose, she sticks to products she is already comfortable with.. This is a philosophy we can definitely adopt for our skincare products. It is so tempting to buy every product with good reviews and make do without them eventually but we have to first consider whether they are suitable for our skin type and if we can actually use them for the long run so as not to waste money on too much products.
8. EAT FOOD WITH PLENTY OF COLLAGEN
Blackpink has their secret health food: chicken feet collagen soup, a home recipe from Rose’s mum. Advocates of collagen-rich foods attest that they can help firm skin and help it regain elasticity and bounce – so it is no wonder that the girls have such supple skin. While we do not have access to Rose’s recipe, we can definitely look out for food rich in collagen such as slow-cooked bone broth and cod fish.
